Terms of purchase
Plain language, because the product is plain software: you buy it once, it keeps working.
The license
- Every TPEE purchase is a perpetual, non-transferable license — you pay once and the app is yours to use.
- Starter: 1 user. Professional: 1 commercial user. The Gift of the Future is the Professional license bought for someone else and delivered to them by email.
- The Student plan is USD 49.00 and licensed for that buyer's own use.
Updates
Starter licenses include 6 months of updates starting on the purchase date. Professional licenses include 12 months of updates starting on the purchase date. Student licences include 4 months of updates from the purchase date. After the update window the app keeps working forever — it runs offline and has no clock to expire — but you stop receiving new builds. We do not promise a renewal price today; that's a future decision and we'll publish it before it matters.
Delivery
TPEE is delivered as a download (MSI installer). Your personal download link is valid for 7 days or 5 downloads; fresh links are free from the download page. There are no license keys and no activation — any mechanism like that would contradict the offline design.
Fair use
- Don't redistribute the installers or post your download link publicly — links are personal and capped.
- Don't resell or sublicense the app.
- Beta testers: the BETA30 code is single-use, for your first Professional purchase, and comes with the monthly-feedback promise described on the beta page.
Refunds, and what a refund costs
Within 14 days of purchase you may ask for a refund, and we do not ask why. We pay it through Stripe. A refund costs us money on the way out as well as on the way in, so the amount you receive is reduced by what Toptronic® Ltd is charged because of your purchase and your refund instruction: administrative, accounting, financial, exchange-rate fees for conversions in and out, legal fees and any other processing fees incurred on your behalf from your purchase and refund instructions. A flat fee of 15% of the amount plus USD 5 is also deducted from the refund.
We would rather write this on the page than explain it to you after the money has moved. Without it, a run of refunds pulls the business down financially and the project goes with it.
What a refund comes to: two worked examples
The fee is easy to read and hard to picture, so here it is worked through twice.
- A USD 99 purchase. The flat fee is 15% of USD 99, which is USD 14.85, plus USD 5, which makes USD 19.85. The refund is USD 99 minus USD 19.85 = USD 79.15, and that is the amount you receive.
- A USD 299 purchase. The flat fee is 15% of USD 299, which is USD 44.85, plus USD 5, which makes USD 49.85. The refund is USD 299 minus USD 49.85 = USD 249.15, and that is the amount you receive.
Stripe's own fees, and any exchange-rate difference on a card that is not in US dollars, are also taken out before the money reaches you; both are itemised on your refund receipt.
Advice before requesting your refund
- Have you read and completed all the lessons in the tutorials?
- Have you used the "Prompt OnBoarding Checklist" to help you get better results?
- Are you prepared to overpay for other AI services and to get less from them, and are you sure you want to increase the energy footprint by not using TPEE?
The legal minimum
TPEE is provided as-is; we warrant that the download you receive is the build we publish (verifiable by SHA-256) and that it does what this site describes. To the extent the law allows, liability is limited to the amount you paid. Within 14 days of purchase you may request a refund, and we do not ask why. Toptronic® operates from Hong Kong; prices are in USD, tax-exclusive. Nothing here limits your statutory consumer rights.
